Stick to the Guidelines.

(down to the pixel)

A strict design guide was used for “styling” each “category” of product (polo shirts vs. high water shirts vs. robes, etc) along with guidelines/specs on post-production needs (sizing, color proofing, cropping, etc.)

Each product needed identical front/back top down shots. For new products that weren’t part of an established collections/series, we coordinated with the client to create a new guide to use moving forward.

Nugget of Knowledge
The cutthroat (salmon pink) robe took 4 tries to get the “cinching” on the waist right because the client wanted a feminine figure shown. Due to this, the tie ends had to be photoshopped shorter (they naturally were 2″ longer than pictured)

It’s all in the details.

(literally)

In addition to front/back shots, each product had a variety of “features” that needed close-up detailed shots. Unfortunately, we were also working with the ONLY samples of new the products, so there were many features of items that were not accurate, so many details/labels had to be photoshopped in, swapped out, re-colored, etc.

Nugget of Knowledge
Much time was spent removing glares (and reflections of myself) from shiny surfaces.
