Branding + Blog Photography

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Simple branding exercise for a small knitting and crochet blog. The project consisted of a primary brand logo and color palette incorporated into a new WordPress theme. Finished project photography followed for individual articles and for use in Etsy listings of final products.

There’s always a story.

A while back, I decided to start a small blog to share my love of crocheting and knitting. This idea came naturally, but picking the name took a little more time and thought. I knew what I wanted it to feel like, but it took some time and patience to come up with the perfect one.

Everything has a story, even if we don’t get to hear it. We scroll past images, products, and ideas every day and rarely do we ever get to see/hear what inspired them. I wanted to bring patterns and projects into the spotlight. Not just finished pieces, but the person behind them and the inspiration, creativity, and small details that go into making each one.

TALE or TAIL?

It’s actually quite simple. It’s exactly what you read! If you have little knowledge about yarn activities, at the end of your projects there is typically a “yarn TAIL” which hands off. I swapped in “TALE” to encapsulate the concept that all these projects have tales and stories to accompany them with can all be combined into a blog (i.e. collective).

ABOUT

YARN TALE COLLECTIVE

A simple, personally owned blog that features crochet and knit items (whether finished items or patterns to download). Articles detail stories and “tales” (spin-off of “tails” <- if you know, you know) of real-world experiences and moments in time related to individual items as they are being created, who they were meant for or given to, or the inspiration behind the patterns themselves.
